The Mizzou Volleyball team got a look of what’s to come with the release of non-conference dates and times for the upcoming season, this time packed with many strong programs that the team does not often encounter.

The Tigers’ first competitive tournament kicks off on Aug. 24 with the James Madison Invitational in Harrisonburg, Virginia. There, the team will face Delaware State at 3 p.m. on Aug. 24, and then Fairfield and James Madison the following day at 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively.

After competing in Virginia, the Tigers will then head to the Carribean six days later for the Puerto Rico Invitational in San Juan, Puerto Rico. There, the team will match up against Xavier at 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 31, Miami (Fla.) at 7 p.m. on Sept. 1 and Arizona State at 7 p.m. on Sept. 2. The Tigers will be tested with every one of these teams, most especially Miami, though, who are coming off a 22-6 season and Round of 32 NCAA appearance last year, falling to then No. 2 and national runner-up, Florida.

After enjoying the tropical weather for a bit, the team will have a quick turnaround, heading back to the states for the Towson Invitational on Sept. 7. There, the Tigers will match up against Princeton and Towson at 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., respectively, and then Ohio State the next day at 10 a.m.

Finally, after a lengthy road stint to begin the season, the Tigers will head back to campus to host the Mizzou Invitational. During this two-day tournament, the team will meet Texas A&M Corpus Christi at 11 a.m. on Sept. 14, Ohio at 7 p.m. the same day and then Drake at 2:30 p.m. the next day.

Following a powerful out-of-conference schedule, the Tigers will then look ahead to Southeastern Conference play beginning just four days after the conclusion of the Mizzou Invitational.

Update: The Tigers will play the Arizona State Sun Devils in the Puerto Rico Invitational, not the Arizona Wildcats.
